Look 5-10 years younger and 50% more well rested

Botox® & Xeomin

Botox® & Xeomin As we age the production of collagen and elastin begins to slow and we start to develop fine lines and wrinkles. There are two types of lines: Static and Dynamic. Static lines are seen while our face is resting and Dynamic lines are only visible when making facial expressions like smiling, squinting, frowning or furrowing. Botox Cosmetic & Xeomin are two types of neurotoxin that are excellent treatment options to reduce dynamic lines and prevent the formation of static lines. We use a small needle to gently inject either Botox or Xeomin to relax specific facial muscle that cause visible signs of aging.

Botox & Xeomin are a perfect option for softening lines on the forehead, between eyebrows, around the eyes, and many other areas. Botox & Xeomin will help fend off those pesky crow’s feet for just a bit longer. Our neurotoxin treatments offer a simple, nonsurgical solution with minimal recovery time.

A treatment only takes 20 minutes and with a few tiny injections, results can be seen in 3-14 days following the procedure. Botox or Xeomin treatments will lead to a more rested and youthful appearance that can last up to four months. Botox and Xeomin have been safely used for more than 20 years and is FDA approved.
After your initial treatment we ask our patients to return for a two week follow up appointment. We do this to ensure complete satisfaction. Every patient is different and as we get to know your muscular structure and how you like your Botox/Xeomin to look and feel it is important for us to discuss your results!

What is the difference between Botox & Xeomin?

Botox (onobotulinumtoxinA)

  • Approved for therapeutic use in 1989 and cosmetic use in 2002.
  • Recommended dosing:
    GL-20
    FH-20
    CF-24
  • Time to initial onset: 5-7 days
Time to full onset: 14 days
  • Repeat treatment every 3-4 months
  • heaviest molecular weight of all neuromodulators at 900kDa; this is due to accessory proteins on the molecule
  • The presence of accessory proteins has been shown to cause an increase in resistance of the drug over time
  • The high molecular weight can cause patients to ‘feel heavy’ in the forehead after injections, if forehead is treated
  • Gives stiffer response; more ideal for patients who want significant reduction in movement or have stronger muscle movement
  • Possible side effects: injection site pain, irritation, headache, eye dryness, blurry vision, and temporary bruising

Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA)

  • Approved for therapeutic use in 2010 and cosmetic use in 2011
  • Recommended dosing:
    GL-20
    FH-20
    CF-24
  • Time to initial onset: 3-5 days
Time to full onset: 14 days
  • Repeat treatment every 3-4 months
  • Smallest molecular weight of all neuromodulators at 150kDa due to removal of accessory proteins on molecule
  • Considered a ‘naked’ protein due to removal of accessory proteins; decreases likelihood of resistance with repeated treatments
  • Due to the lighter molecular weight, patients are less likely to experience the heavy sensation if forehead is treated
  • Gives lighter, more natural/softer response; great for new patients or patients who are afraid to look stiff/frozen
  • Possible side effects: injection site pain, irritation, headache, eye dryness, blurry vision, and temporary bruising
