PRP Facials are one of the most effective skincare treatments on the market and completely rejuvenate the skin by using the body’s own regenerative properties. They tighten and firm the skin, reduce redness and dark spots, heal acne and acne scars, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment works to improve the barrier function of the skin which means it makes the skin generally healthier and better functioning.

How PRP Facials Work

Similar to PRP Injections , PRP Facials use Platelet-Rich Plasma but instead of being localized to one part of the face, the PRP is micro-needled into the surface of the entire face.

Like any other PRP treatment, a certified phlebotomist collects a sample of the patient’s own blood. It is then centrifuged to separate the red blood cells from the platelets. Before any needling treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied to aid in comfort.

The treatment uses 12 very small stainless steel needles, run smoothly along the surface of the face. These tiny needles create microchannels in the skin so that the PRP can saturate the entire face. The PRP starts the body’s own activation of collagen and elastin regeneration allowing the skin to tighten and firm.

For optimal results, we recommend a series of 4 to 6 treatments. Each treatment must be spaced a minimum of one month apart. Once the desired results have been achieved, it is best to have maintenance treatments 2 to 4 times per year. The results are permanent because the body is rejuvenating itself. However, as the skin continues to age and is exposed to environmental stressors, follow up treatments are required.

What is PRP?

PRP Treatments work by using the body’s own healing and regeneration processes.  After taking a small sample of the patient’s blood, we place the blood in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells from the plasma which is rich in platelets.

Platelets serve an important function in the body by stimulating the repair of fibroblasts (collagen-producing cells).  By injecting platelets back into the skin, we’re signaling the body to create repair proteins and growth factors to remove damaged cells and to generate new ones.  PRP signals the body to clear the damaged cells and for fibroblasts to start producing collagen immediately.

Centrifuge Options

We now offer PRP Facials with two different centrifuge options – Genius and LiquidGold. The centrifuge used determines to the concentration of platelets, and therefore the effectiveness of the treatment.  More concentrated PRP has more growth factors and proteins.
